Voting Question: Why do I feel like I suck at writing?
I’m 13 years old and I’m trying to write a book, but when I start typing, it turns to crap. I mean, I feel like it’s good one day, but the other day it feels like trash. Sometimes, I feel like I’m the worst writer ever and i get so darn frustrated. Here’s a little excerpt from my story.
Draco’s Island. Five hundred miles off the coast of South America. A large Venetian castle built of grey marble shone in the middle of the island. In the castle, a short pudgy man sat behind a mahogany desk in a spacious room with a floor-to–wall window.
This man wasn’t a king, or any other royalty. He was Dr. Xavier Frost, the leader of bio-terrorist organization CHIMERA Industries. He had steel grey eyes hidden behind red tinted glasses that matched his equally dull hair and wore a lab jacket.
There was a knock on the door, Dr. Xavier walked across the Persian rug blanketing the gold-tiled floor, and he opened it. An old man with matted blonde hair and deep blue eyes stood on his door mat. His scarlet sweater vest clung to him revealing his muscular physique.
“Ah, Michel! Please take a seat,” Dr. Xavier said, gesturing to a chrome seat facing the desk.
As Michel walked to his seat, he noticed several schematics and blueprints pinned to the wall. The strangest one had a sphere on a tall building spraying out some sort of substance. Michel made it to seat and the doctor quickly followed.
“It must’ve been hard for you to locate my castle out here in the middle of nowhere,” the doctor said as he settled into his leathery seat.
“Cut to the chase.”
“Of course.”
The doctor opened a drawer and removed a tan manila folder. He placed it on the table. Michel opened the folder and carefully scrutinized it.
“Hmm,” he said as he closed the folder. “Interesting.”
“So can you kill him?” the doctor asked abruptly.
So please guys, help a young writer out and tell him what exactly he needs to do to write like J.K Rowling, or at least Stephanie Meyers. I know it’s probably never going to become a bestseller, but I want to write so that I could prove to my self that I can write a 250 page novel without making people throw up in disgust.
