Resolved Question: Art AS Level ideas? Also need Textiles ideas!?
The options for Art Design are:
1 Windows and Doorways - Alice in Wonderland, maybe items that trigger doorways to open in people’s minds for example seeing an item related to dead relative or friend might trigger you to think about them.
2 Technology - no ideas really for this one except for how technology has taken over our lives, maybe doing a city of technology or transformers made form recent technology e.g. iphones, ps3s, laptops etc..
3 Festivals and Carnivals - Mardi Gras/Venetian theme? Or Leeds and Glastonbury, I could paint a pair of wellies, umbrella, a tent!?
4 Altering the Scale - there has to be a specific reason for altering the scale of the things I choose, like making celebrities larger than others in photos because of their social status, etc..
5 Significant Events - has to be a significant event, kind of stupid seeing as basically everyone that does this will do Haiti and this can lower everyone’s marks, stupid stupid system! I was thinking maybe Michael Jackson’s death?
The options for Textiles Fashion are:
1 Surfaces - snoooooooooooooooooze but go for it!
2 Rangoli Patterns - has to finish with a textiles piece for the home so to be honest it’s not really what I want to do as I want to take Fashion at uni but maybe I can be convinced!
3 Organic Forms - I kind of hate this but feel free to mention any ideas..
4 Embellishment - this is the one I’m mainly focused on so far, I was thinking about looking at vegas show girl costumes, burlesque costumes, Moulin Rouge style outfits and Rio carnival costumes..the brief also says they traditionally convey position and status.
5 African Influences - I have to produce a fashion accessory for this, could be alright although I did a lot of work based on African Culture for GCSE.
Any ideas would be really great! Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers
