Voting Question: would k12 online schooling be a good choice for me?
i live in northern illinois and my school is not what a school schould be. they target children, and pick favorites. they threaten suspension and expulsion at the slightest infraction of the rules and use them as a way to make kids “talk” if you will. For example: a student at my school peaked his head into the classroom of one of my friends classes, said something(which my friend did not understand, but it was only a joke anyway) and the teacher lost it. she asked my friend what the student had said and since my friend did not understand he replied with: ” i dont know.” The teacher then proceded to involve the principal, who practically interogated the friend who the student shouted and, and another one of my friends in that class. the school had assumed the student was messed up on drugs and thats why he was acting strangely and shouting into the classroom(this was during the 3 minutes in between classes ind you, not even actual class). I miss school repeatedly due to illness as it is, my only good friends are upper classmen, and these upper classmen are also looking into online schooling. My school is not the learning environment i want to be in and i was wondering if k12 would be a good alternative. i read you receive a state?nationally recognized diploma. i do have a few questions though, can i graduate early if i work hard? right now i am on track to graduate in 2014, but with k12 can i do it faster? i am an honor role, hardworking student, so if it is possible to graduate early, ill be able to achieve it. Also, will i be able to walk down the isle at my current school(its in my town) to recieve my diploma? im pretty sure home schooled kids walk the isle, so why shouldnt i get to on k12? And is it a legitament schooling or does it look bad on my college application? Also, i want to take physics, and other similar, advanced classes, are these available?
