Resolved Question: Why do Australians try and claim British acts a lot?
I’m not being mean or anything but it’s something I’ve noticed.
For example, The Bee Gees, they are from Isle of Man (Between England and Ireland, located on the Irish sea) and were born to English parents. And they have British accents. Yeah, they lived in Australia for a few years but they are still British since the band is of 3 British brothers. And AC/DC, most of the members are Scottish, they only have 1 Australian drummer yet they are somehow considered Australian because they lived there for a while and formed the band there, I don’t get that?
I know us Brits have enough amazing singers and bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Queen, The Who, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Smiths, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Florence and the Machine, Coldplay, Muse, Radiohead, etc… but still, Bee Gees and AC/DC deserve to be on the list.
I mean, Madonna lived in London for a few years but she’s American, I’m not going to claim her as English since she was born and raised in US.
I’m from London UK, born and raised but I’ve lived in Los Angeles, USA for 3 years, If I become a singer whilst here, would people consider me to be an American singer? NO, because I’m English.
By the way, Aussies, I’m stealing Kylie Minogue and claiming her as British because she’s lived here for so long, I don’t give a crap if she was born in Australia.
Why do Australians try and claim British acts a lot? I know Brits seem to be the most talented but BACK THE F OFF.
EasyDo: Don’t speak English if you’re not English then. By the way, I’ve never heard any Brit use the word POM. You’re just jealous of us.
