Resolved Question: How much blood is payment enough?

Quaint cottage town, sits on the edge
of the Isle of Mull
where highland tourists go
thinkin the grass is greener
on the channels other side
tippin the ferryman
as they disembark,
headed for Belfast.

Once there a sense of profound,
as the sounds of the gathered seep from pubs
while the orange and green
“soldiers” stalk then march on.
A child stands afraid, watchin,
as the doll she dropped runnin
is trampled by the shadow figures
that hide behind the night,

waitin for a spark, a shot,
a cryin out, then a fall.
Hidin behind a mothers skirt
unaware but askin why
her ‘dolly’ had to die in the dark
lights are turned off in succession
then back on, in a simple twist of fate
the mystery of hate.
