Open Question: Why british ppl dont read the history of falklands and their own country before talk shit about argentina?
here is the story that british ignorants dont know..
After our independence from spain (1816) we took the control of the islands.
In 1820 the government of the United Provinces of Río de la Plata took formal possession of the islands sending Heroine frigate commanded by Colonel David Jewett of U.S. origin. This complied with the orders received in a ceremony on 6 November 1820.76 77 Since the area was being illegally exploited by whalers coming mainly from the United Kingdom and the United States, was prepared statement read in Spanish and English, the latter version had been legalized by the British consul in Buenos Aires.78 On board this ship arrived in the islands the first performance of the Argentine government to establish a penal colony based on, the first governor of the islands was Paul Areguati, who arrived in 1823.79 Besides informing foreign ships in the area on the prohibition of hunting and fishing in Argentine waters, the violation of this policy meant that offenders would be sent to Buenos Aires for 80 juzgados.76
Colonel Jewett.
The news of the inauguration of Argentina’s spread around the world, being published in Spain and the United States in August 1821. However this did not generate any protest made by Great Bretaña.81 Nor wielded no objection to signing the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation with the United Provinces in 1825, or by recognizing the independence argentina.82 83
The government conceded at the same time society made up of Jorge Pacheco and Luis Vernet (born in Hamburg, naturalized French family and Argentina), the right to fishing and cattle farm on the Isle Soledad.76 84 After a first attempt failed, Vernet founded in 1826 the first permanent settlement of the United Provinces in the archipelago over the remains of the ancient town founded Puerto Luis.85 The Argentine government extended the concession to Pacheco and Vernet, giving them the exclusive right of hunting and fishing the waters adjacent to the islas.86 The June 10, 1829 Vernet was appointed Political and Military Commander of the archipelago, promoted the establishment of farms, drove the bargain between the islands and also improved the ties that bound the continental Argentina. In 1830 the islands were born in early humans Falklands, all Argentines, including a daughter by Luis Vernet: Malvina Sáez Vernet, born February 5, 1830.87
British invasion
In August 1832 the British Prime Minister Lord Palmerston, at the suggestion of the Admiralty, ordered sent to Admiral Thomas Baker head of the South American naval station in order to gain control of the crown on the archipiélago.112
On December 20, 1832 arrived at Port Egmont, the corvette HMS Clio. Captain John Onslow took formal possession and his crew set about repairing the ruins of fuerte.113 114 A few days later the ship anchored off Puerto Soledad. The commander informed Pinedo Onslow who was preparing to take the island, and ordered him to haul down the flag of Argentina the following day
The British held Falkland (1833-April 1982)
Smith focused his efforts on restoring the establishment of Port Louis, which renamed Anson’s Harbour. He was succeeded by Lieutenant Robert Lowcay in April 1838 and John Tyssen in December of that year. These authorities Vernet refused to return repeated requests to settle on the premises of which he owned, saying that it was an “intruder”. Finally, after a visit to London, obtained a small monetary compensation for the loss of their horses, but was denied an extension of the compensation for other damage
Facts:
We inherited the Spanish islands and built the first settlement before you do so
The British drove out the native population of Argentina on the island
we claim the islands for 100 years through diplomatic channels
Kelpers self-determination does not matter because they are a population artificially implanted
England does not care to self-determination, the kelpers are an instrument used to maintain control of the islands. Ask the inhabitants of Diego Garcia Island
Also Secretary of State of the United States said malvinas has a de facto government.
So stop talking shit about Argentina, and read some books. I hate brainwashed idiots like you
“Its really sad that you have to come up with a sad appeal to ancient history to try and deny people their right to self determinatio. The fact remains, the people in the falklands want to remain British and it is selfish and imperialist for Argentina to try and deny them their right to choose.
The fact remains, that Argentines never settled in the Falkands while the current population identify as British, by you own dented logic the islands should really be French, after all, the first (subsequently abandoned) settlement was French.”
Did you read the info at least? or you are writing your brainwashed part of the story?
Hey go and read the history of DIEGO GARCIA Island and tell me about self-determination
