Open Question: If someone hit your child while driving?

Tonight i was at the gym with my two girls and we were walking out. There was a mom, daughter about 10 and a little boy about 5 in front of us. They stepped into the street and a Jeep was turning left into a parking isle and was not paying attention and nailed the family. The boy was bleeding from his head and laid there for like 20 minutes. He was breathing and conscious but also got care flighted to a hospital. The mom was screaming, full on screaming at the boy (about 16) for the whole 20 minutes the little boy was laying there and was in a full on panic attack (which I can totally understand) and the driver was in complete tears…I was consoling the mom and my daughters were trying to calm down the little girl until the police and care flight got there. The dad was on a plane to a business trip in Arizona. I got phone numbers and she said she was going to update me…but i haven’t heard anything back. I was seriously so shaken up when i got in my car and my girls were absolutely distraught.

I am not sure i would be able to say that i would just scream at someone who hit my kid with their car because they were not paying attention…also know that accidents happen. Would you ever be able to forgive someone if this happened to your kid? I was thinking about it a lot and while i know we are supposed to forgive, i can honestly see myself have to be restrained for doing anything in that moment of anger…what do you think?
