Open Question: How much should I look to pay a lettings agent to rent out my properties?
Hello everyone - thanks for looking at my question.
I am looking to relocate abroad(well, the Isle of Wight anyway!).
I have two properties that I’d like to rent out now I’m not living in London in the week for work and going back to my ‘real home’ at the weekends with my lovely family.
My London pad is a 1 bedroom flat near Russell Square Underground and my family home is a four bedroomed house in a village in Northamptonshire. I want to rent them both out, fully managed, but since I’ve not done this before I have no clue what is a reasonable percentage for the lettings agents to take and whether there should be any up front fees? Some of the research shows some letting agents charge up front fees but others don’t and the variation of percentage and up front fees is vast.
If anyone with any experience of letting their property/properties out could let me know there opinions on fees etc then I would be very grateful.
