Open Question: AC/DC British or Australian?
Well, I watched Bee Gees and AC/DC interviews and I was shocked because the 3 brothers of the Bee Gees all had English accents and were talking about how they were born in Isle of Man, England but moved to Manchester when they were kids and they were talking about going to school in England, they all had English accents but moved to Australia when they were ADULTS but they are considered Aussie and AC/DC, the singers in the band are all proper Scottish and one is a Geordie (Brian) and they always were Scottish kilts, they are SO British yet Australians claim them because they lived in Australia for a few years. Most members live in America now, they aren’t American. And also, Kylie Minogue has lived in UK for years, we don’t claim her as English because she was born and raised in Australia. When I spoke to an Australian friend they said ” That’s just how it is in Australia, once you’ve lived here, you’re Australian” but that’s a very stupid and uneducated way to think. The members of AC/DC have Scottish accents and were born and raised in Scotland, how are they Australian? :\ All of the members are either from England or Scotland, there’s only 1 Australian drummer
And also, I’m shocked that Angus and the other English and Scottish members allow Australians to claim them as Aussies. Aren’t their families mad?
The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Sex Pistols, David Bowie, The Who, Billy Idol, Deep Purple, Oasis, Muse, etc… are already British so we have enough legends as it is but still… Man, us Brits have the best bands!
You Aussies even claim our bands as yours! Jimi Hendrix formed his band in England, his not English though.
